Ready, Set, Panda Layout - DT Sketches In Thyme

My sister-in-law threw an awesome panda party for my nephew. This was the chopstick race. It was hilarious watching them wear their masks and try to run while pinching a marshmallow. I made this layout for the Smash Up at Sketches In Thyme.

I smashed together Rochelle's sketch and then used the border from Shawn's sketch.

Supplies
Doodlebug: Spring & Color Wheel
Pink Paper - Echo Park: Summer Days
Black Letters - Doodlebug: Jack & Jill
Pink Letters, small butterfly & caption - Bella Blvd

Snake Layout

My mother-in-law bought this snake game for the grandkids to play at her house. They love it because you have to balance them or else they fall all over the place.

I used this sketch from Sketch-N-Scrap. I love how simple it is and I was able to get this done fairly quickly which never happens for me.

I dug deep in the stash for this one which makes it even more satisfying. I layered two different sets of Bella Blvd letters. Love how their letters work together like that. I used a flourish from an animal set as a stencil and used paper that matched my layout. I inked the sides and stamped them with dots. My daughter really wanted a button on the "e" so it looked like snake eyes:)

Supplies
Solid papers - Recollections: Basic Bold
Background paper - Bo Bunny: Marrakesh Palace
Letters - Bella Blvd: Whatever Is Lovely & Valentina
Stamp - Stampin' Up
Green Ink
Buttons & Tag - the stash

Meghan's Wedding Layout

This was one of the best weddings I have ever attended. My cousin was so beautiful, the weather was perfect (a huge risk around here) and every speech was hilarious. I'm so happy for her and glad I got at least one picture.

I was inspired by this sketch at Let's Get Sketchy. I've had this hanging on my 'to do' board all month so I'm glad I got a chance to get my project on paper.

I'm also including this layout in the Paper Issues: Pinspire Me challenge on their Facebook page. Of course my page has a picture of a couple dancing! Plus a few hearts and flowers.

Supplies

Paper - Jen Hadfield: Cottage Living
Letters - American Crafts Thickers: Beautiful #79

Happy 5th Birthday Layout

I can't believe my little one is 5! We had a lovely family party and a family member managed to get this shot of the action. I love the colours in this picture and I'm glad I had some matching Bo Bunny papers to go with their sketch.

This sketch is so unique, I really wanted to play with it. It is for the challenge at Bo Bunny.

There is also an Anything Goes challenge at Clique Kits this month.

It was so fun to play with some new techniques. I used a toilet paper tube, water bottle cap and texture paste lid to make the circles. And I've now watched enough tutorials to realize splatters are much easier to make with the spray tube in the bottle of paint rather than a brush.

Supplies
Paper - Bo Bunny: You're Invited & Sweet Life
Embellishments - Bo Bunny: You're Invited Ephemera
Letters - Bo Bunny: Sweet Life
Paint - Heidi Swapp Color Shine: Raspberry
Embroidery thread
Buttons from stash

Lego Safari Layout

We had such a fabulous time at LEGOLAND this summer. It was busy and hot but not as crazy as Disney. The rides were perfect for my daughter and the Lego creations were amazing. I insisted on doing the safari ride not realizing it is a two minute ride after an hour wait. We took all sorts of pictures which is a good thing as the ride is so quick you can barely remember it! I'll have to scrap some of those pictures on another page.

I used the sketch from Scrapbook Steals Midweek Mojo: Lily #2.

Believe Layout

Everything is pink and hearts with Valentine's around the corner so I had to dig into my new Simple Stories Simple Set: Hope. I won this set so it seems a little strange to use it for a purpose other than to encourage someone with breast cancer. But thank goodness I don't know anyone in this situation. I'm glad I could still make use of the kit. (PS - my plan was not to put the blue stickers on the left side but I dropped a pen on my layout and it made a mark. I couldn't get rid of it so I tried to decorate it with the supplies I had left - blah).

I was inspired by the Scrappy Friend's challenges. The sketch is from GrandDiva's Creative Corner.

The subject of the layout came from Creating With Paper and More. I used the hearts, flowers and love theme. The colours of this kit also matched the pink and grey from the colour palette. I almost made my title "Believe in Love" but I like the look of just one word.

The final challenge is to choose a polaroid frame or chipboard frame. I used the polaroid frame. This is at Rochelle Spears's site.
Supplies
Paper, banner, title & date - Simple Stories: Hope
2 Red Heart Stickers - Bella Blvd: Fresh Market
Heart and Star Stickers - Simple Stories: diy word stickers
Flowers - Prima & Recollections
Frame - DCWV: Snapshot Stack
Pearls - Michael's
Brads - the stash

Lucky Star Layout

I was so excited yesterday to receive a prize I won during all the CHA giveaways. I won the three new Simple Sets from Simple Stories. They are so lovely I had to dig into them today. I used the "Heart" Simple Set. This set is actually meant to remember someone who has passed but I (thank goodness) don't have any pictures that fit that situation. There is enough in each set to stray a bit from their themes. This picture is of my daughter at my brother's wedding.

I used the sketch from the Mid-Week Mojo Challenge (Lily #1) at Scrapbook Steals.

I was inspired to use a blue colour scheme because challenge #278 this week at Lasting Memories is to use blue. Here is the inspiration picture.
